¿Te gusta la fotografía? ¿Te interesa la sostenibilidad del planeta? pues no te pierdas “Crecimiento”, la exposición que muestra las obras finalistas del III Prix Pictet de fotografía, el certamen más importante dedicado a Fotografía y Sostenibilidad que existe a nivel internacional, y que estará presente en el Pabellón Villanueva del Real Jardín Botánico hasta el día 8 de enero de 2012.
Los doce finalistas del Prix Pictet “Crecimiento” son: Christian Als (Dinamarca), Edward Burtynsky (Canadá), Stéphane Couturier (Francia), Mitch Epstein (Estados Unidos), Chris Jordan (Estados Unidos), Yeondoo Jung (Corea del Sur), Vera Lutter (Alemania), Nyaba Leon Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso), Taryn Simon (Estados Unidos), Thomas Struth (Alemania), Guy Tillim (Sudáfrica), y Michael Wolf (Alemania).
Aunque el crecimiento ha supuesto una indiscutible mejora en nuestros niveles de vida y salud, no podemos olvidar que una alarmante expansión de nuestras ciudades, una dependencia cada vez mayor de los recursos escasos, y el enorme incremento de la población en algunos países, puede provocar una gran catástrofe a nivel mundial. Satisfacer todas estas demandas se plantea como un reto para este nuevo siglo.
Una exposición que sin duda no os dejará indiferentes, aprovechad la ocasión y daros un paseo por el Real Jardín Botánico!

Although growth has been an undeniable improvement in our living standards and health, we can not forget that an alarming expansion of our cities, a growing dependence on scarce resources and the enormous increase in population in some countries, may cause a global catastrophe. To meet all these demands is seen as a challenge for this new century.
